Has Your Supplier Become A Dot Com? Stakemill Still Offers Services

Has Your Supplier Become A Dot Com? Stakemill Still Offers Services

Recently in Florida two land survey and construction equipment suppliers have significantly reduced the number of sales employees and added web masters to focus on selling online. We think that is like basing your business on todays number one song or fashion, it will definitely be out of style tomorrow. Being the one that grew the business from a one man operation into what it is today separates Stakemill from these other suppliers as they have been handed the business and do not know the customers wants, needs or even their faces.

Stakemill has always offered manufacturer workshops and demo clinics at our largo facility. For our customers that purchase a new rotary laser, auto level, theodolite, range finder, total station or GPS we can schedule a clinic for you to show you how to use these new tools at our Largo facility. Simply check our website for the current schedule or when purchasing your unit get registered for the next clinic.

Our vendors are the ones that can tell you Stakemill went from no accessory sales to being one of the biggest in possibly the worse economic time, from 2007 to 2012. While the others were all relying on what happened in the past Stakemill set out to chart new paths in sales of supplies and GPS units, that has allowed us to pass the others up. Now in 2012 when everyone is going to online sales only Stakemill can see the new course is to service what you sell and to offer support, something a webmaster, a banker or a son who inherits a business can not offer thier customers.

Which Do You Use – Field Books or Data Collectors

Which Do You Use – Field Books or Data Collectors

Recently I had an interesting conversation with a colleague of mine, he asked what we do with the information we collect about products our customers use. Of course that is information we use to help better market our services and good to our customers but we basically do it with our in store customers, why not include our on-line shoppers as well? that has brought me to today’s blog entry-

hich method of data logging do you use?

1) Field Books or 2) An Electronic Data Collector

Please comment below as we do not open many entries and allow communication with our customers unitl now. This will allow us to reach our more than 8,000 on-line cusotmers in addition to our 300 plus in state customers.

New Kenwood 2 Way Radios for Land Surveyors

Detailed Listing of Equipment & Ordering – BRS (Business Radio Service) Portables ProTalk & FreeTalk

Buy Here

Kenwood ProTalk Radios

Kenwood has made some minor improvements to the TK-2200/3200 Series ProTalk Portable Radios and changed the Model #’s to the TK-2300/3300 Series. The Radio Package prices have remained the same. The Batteries, Chargers, Belt-Clips and Antennas are the same. There are some very slight cosmetic changes to the Radio itself. Following is a list of the changes in the new ProTalk Radio Packages:

o The TK-2300 Series will be offered as 4 & 16 Channel Models versus 2 & 8 Channel Models for the existing TK-2200 Series.
o The 2300 Series will have an improved Speaker and improved Audio compared to the 2200 Series.
o The 2300 Series will have slightly larger Knobs that will be more easily manipulated with gloves.
o The Audio Jack is more durable.

NOTE 1: I still have limited stock on some of the VHF TK-2200 Series ProTalk Packages that are available to Users that are already using this Model and might prefer to keep the same Model for now. Please call for availability 727-538-0886.

NOTE 2: Kenwood has increased our pricing on some of the Parts & Accessories and I have increased our prices by the same amount.

TK-3230 versus TK-3130/3131 Series Models

NOTE 3: Kenwood has replaced the TK-3130 ProTalk Portable Radio with the new TK-3230 Model. This is an excellent radio choice for On-Site applications that require a very light-weight & compact Radio Package. The TK-3230 Portable Radio is designed and engineered with some significant improvements compared to the TK-3130 Model. The new radio is very similar in most respects to the previous TK-3130 Model; however, it has the following improvements:
o The new Lithium-Ion (2000 MAh) battery has a 18 hour life as opposed to the 10 hour life for the TK-3130 Models with the NiMH battery (based on a 5-5-90 Duty Cycle).
o The new TK-3230 Model with the Lithium-Ion Battery weighs 1.5 ounces less than the TK-3130 Model (5.5 oz vs. 7.0 oz).
o The new Radio is smaller than the TK-3130 (slightly narrower in Width and approx. ½” Shorter).
o The new Radio meets Eight of the Eleven Radio MIL-SPEC’s versus six for the TK-3130.
o The TK-3230 has a much more rugged fixed antenna design than the TK-3130.
o The Output Power on the TK-3230 has been increased to 1.5 Watts (vs. 1.0 Watt for the TK-3130).
o The TK-3230 has just one board (vs. two boards in the TK-3130) so it is much less subject to problems associated with drops.
o The TK-3230 has the same ruggedized battery latch that the 2300/3300 Kenwood Series Radios have.
o The TK-3230 has a 6-Channel Capacity (vs. the 2-Channel Capacity of the TK-3130).

The new Radio has the same Audio Jack as the existing Radio so you will have compatibility with all of your existing Audio Accessories.
