Ricoh GPS Camera NOT supported in Windows Mobile 6.5

PLEASE NOTE!

We are unable to get Windows Mobile 6.5 to recognize the Ricoh GPS camera. As of early 2011 we have been notified by owners of the camera that Ricoh GPS cameras are not able to be supported by the GPS devices running Windows Mobile 6.5.

With the advancements in technology and the simple fact you can’t stretch the dollar far enough we recommend you use the built-in camera on your GIS or GPS unit. The camera dealers we spoke to have mentioned the cameras are still sitting on the shelf and we noticed the handheld GIS and GPS units are flying off he shelf.

Test show the built-in camera on the new Ashtech Mobile Mapper 100 will allow you to read the serial number on bar codes in addition to third-party bar scanner support. No Bluetooth pairing required, just utilize either ESRI’s ArcPad 10 or Ashtech’s Filed software to activate the integrated 3 mega pixel camera when logging points.
